Background

Fyt.club was a mobile app product exploration exercise that encourages living a healthy lifestyle through gamification. Users were represented by in-game characters that levelled up when users performed activities that bettered their health (e.g. walking 10,000 steps a day). Levelling up in the game world granted them perks that translated into real life benefits such as discounts at health establishments, further encouraging a healthy and active lifestyle. 

Features include:

  • Earn points and gold for completing healthy actions (e.g. walking 10,000 steps a day)
  • Earn more points and gold for healthy actions repeated in succession (habit-forming)
  • Level up after achieving a certain number of points
  • Combat other characters for "mayor" of establishments and get in-game and real life perks 
  • Defend "mayor" status from other players by ensuring character is healthy 
  • Purchase items from the game store to boost character stats and help defend from challengers
  • Enlist a variety of personality coaches from pop culture to help motivate making healthy choices
